Today on Thursday the 04th of June 2015 marked the begging of a need dispensation for the community of Thomas Mahlanguville previously known as Ackerville in Emalahleni in Mpumalanga. The construction of the clinic and subsequent opening was made possible by a partnership between the Mpumalanga Department of Health, Emalahleni Local Municipality and SAMANCOR group, a mining company based in Emalahleni.
Last year in 2014, the mining group through their Corporate Social Investment Initiative programme, committed to plough back to the local community by building a state of the art clinic. The Emalahleni Local Municipality also came on board and made land available for the construction of the clinic. This was after initial plans of renovating the old Ackerville clinic were disapproved because of the bad state of the old structure, which is a small four roomed house, started to function in 1987, rendering Primary Health Care services.
